Embodied Healing Counseling & Yoga is a mental health and yoga therapy practice led by Kristen Simons, LCPC, PMH-C, RYT-200. We offer individual therapy, yoga therapy, and perinatal mental health support to help women and adults reconnect with their values, address limiting belief systems, and learn emotion regulation through a holistic, mind-body approach.
Our approach integrates evidence-based psychotherapy, nervous system education and regulation skills, and somatic and mindfulness-based practices.

Mission: To help women, adults, and perinatal folks move toward self-compassion, emotion regulation, and values-alignment through integrative, mind-body approaches to healing.
Therapy for adults and women navigating anxiety, high-functioning stress, and life transitions. Sessions integrate talk therapy, mindfulness, and somatic regulation tools to support insight, equip clients with coping strategies, and build emotional resilience and self-compassion.
Specialized support for individuals navigating fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum. We help clients manage anxiety and other mood changes, identity shifts, and prepare for the many transitions this life stage brings.
Comprehensive, trauma-informed support for women and adults experiencing disordered eating or body image concerns with an experienced eating disorder therapist. Therapy combines relational and somatic approaches, along with evidence-based modalities to help clients reconnect to their bodies in a safe environment and cultivate a compassionate relationship with food and self.
Customized 1:1 yoga sessions that blend yoga asanas, functional movements, breathwork, and nervous system education to support emotional and physical health. Sessions are customized to each client and available in-office or online via Zoom.
Small-group spaces that combine yoga, psychoeducation, and supportive discussion. Offerings include postpartum yoga groups, birth preparation workshops, and seasonal classes designed to nurture balance and community. Groups and classes held in-office, yoga studio, or online via Zoom.
• Women and adults experiencing high-functioning anxiety, chronic stress, perfectionism, impossible expectations, and identity challenges.
• Individuals in the perinatal period (fertility, pregnancy and postpartum).
• Women and adults navigating disordered eating or body image concerns.
• Those seeking support that integrates evidenced-based psychotherapy with somatic and nervous system awareness.
We begin with an initial consultation to understand your goals, background, and support preferences — creating a foundation of rapport, trust, and collaboration.
If we decide to move forward, we’ll send intake paperwork electronically. Client will also receive information about our office for in-person sessions and how to log in for secure video sessions. During the first session, we’ll talk about goals, what’s feeling hard, and what support can look like.
Subsequent sessions weave together relational and insight-based therapy, somatic awareness, and practical regulation tools to strengthen the connection between mind and body.
Our goal is for you to carry these practices forward, feeling equipped with tools that support continued growth and emotional regulation beyond the therapy room.
A free online workshop for prenatal and postpartum women, providing psychoeducation around this stage of life and a short yoga sequence designed to alleviate aches and pains and prepare the body for birth and beyond.
A 6-week series combining yoga, education, and emotional support for birthing parents.
A mind-body approach for birthing people and partners, combining education, movement, and nervous system tools for confident preparation and relationship building.
Lead a group of postpartum women through a nurturing and postpartum-specific yoga class during a day-long retreat in Chicago.
